Message from HoD’s Desk
It is a matter of pride to present the latest edition of our online “Newsletter,” which highlights the remarkable achievements of our faculty, students, and staff in the Civil Engineering Department. The dedication and efforts of the Editorial Team in compiling this edition are highly commendable.
Our vision remains to equip every student with the knowledge and skills required for the evolving construction industry. To this end, our faculty continually update their expertise by attending conferences, workshops, seminars, and contributing to research in cutting-edge areas of civil engineering. By combining modern technologies with strong fundamental education, our department ensures that students excel in academics, research, and practical applications.
We also focus on fostering entrepreneurial and innovative thinking through internships, workshops, and projects, enabling students to contribute to economic growth and create employment opportunities for others.
On behalf of my faculty colleagues and staff, I reaffirm our commitment to advancing teaching, research, and consultancy that are both impactful and relevant to nation-building.

Faculty Achievements
Awards & Recognitions
- Dr. Harvinder Singh received the Faculty Excellence Award 2024 from the College Alumni Association.
- Prof. Manvinder Kingra was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship worth ₹50 lakh to pursue higher studies in the UK.
Sponsored Project / Grants
- Dr. Harvinder Singh and Dr. Yuvraj Singh have been awarded an industry-sponsored project worth ₹3.54 lakh for the project titled “Utilization of Iron Dust as a Supplementary Material in Concrete and Brick Production.”
Ph.D. Compelted/Guided
- Dr. Yuvraj Singh completed Ph.D. titled “Performance of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete Beams Containing Conventional Reinforcement Under Corrosive Environment” under the guidance of Dr. Harvinder Singh.
- Dr. H.S. Rai & Dr. Jagbir Singh’s research scholar Satinder Kaur completed her PhD on Interoperable Structural Model from Architectural Model (January 2025).
- Dr. Hardeep Singh Rai & Dr. Kulwinder Singh Mann’s research scholar Bhupinder Kaur Srao completed her research on Exploiting BIM’s Potential for Project Approval (July–December 2024).
- Dr. Harvinder Singh’s research scholar Ravpreet Kaur completed her PhD on Flexural Response of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Long Beams.
- Dr. Harvinder Singh’s research scholar Yuvraj Singh completed his Ph.D. on *“Performance of Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete Beams Containing Conventional Reinforcement Under Corrosive Environment”.
