SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURS’ PARK

Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP)- GNDEC, Ludhiana is a unique & dynamic entity promoted jointly by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College and the Dept. of Science & Technology. Govt. of India, to encourage Entrepreneurship amongst Science & Technology students by providing space, environment & infrastructure for creative thinking, innovation, product and venture development for Science & Technology Entrepreneurs. It also facilitates live linkages between Educational Institutions of academic excellence on the one hand and Industry on the other. STEP-Ludhiana was one of the first 6 STEPs established in the country and became operational in the year 1987. It is spread over an area of 6 acres and apart from its Administration Block & Workshop; a working area has been set apart for prospective entrepreneurs.

Activity Highlights (STEP-GNDEC)

Nankana Sahib Public School, (10th & +2 students), Gilla, Ludhiana visited the STEP GNDEC on 5th December 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries and also did creative activities for students. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Mgmt Faculty & Programme Co-ordinator) had a productive session on taking the initiative to implement your ideas and shared Govt. courses of PMKVY 4.0. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) had a Shared professional career guidance, and also given the awareness of the latest software. Mr. Munish Sharma & Manjit Singh took them for an industrial visit after the session for awareness purposes. Students had great interaction with all the Entrepreneurs during the visit.

GNE College (B.com Entrepreneurship students), Ldh visited the STEP GNDEC on 21st August 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) had a productive and meaningful session about Entrepreneurship prospects, also given the awareness of the latest software. Mr. Manjit Singh took them for an industrial visit after the session for awareness. Students had great interaction with all the Entrepreneurs during the visit.

STEP GNDEC is glad to share an exciting glimpse of the panel interview about HRM. Management students from CT University came to the campus to make a project file related to HRM interviews on 1st March 2024. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & HR Manager) gave invaluable opportunities to gain real-world insights into their fields. Here they had the good opportunity to glean firsthand insights from STEP GNE, enriching their understanding of the field.

Dr C Athwal Deputy Dean and Professor Birmingham State University Birmingham visited STEP GNDEC today. He was appreciative of the facilities being provided by STEP GNDEC to incubators. He was impressed by the work of STEP GNDEC. STEP GNDEC and Birmingham State University shall be exploring possibilities of cooperation to promote startup and incubation culture.

Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College organized a Placement Drive for Final Year CAD (DCCP, MECHANICAL, AND AUTOMOBILE) Students. A glimpse of a placement drive at STEP GNDEC. Mr. G.S Mehray (GM), Mr. Kawalbir Singh (Production Planning & Control), and Ms. Veena Sharma (HR Manager) from G.S AUTO INTERNATIONAL, DHANDARI KALAN, LUDHIANA, appreciated and encouraged all students for their careers, and selected 50+ students. The placement drive was very well Coordinated by Dr. Arvind Dhingra Sir (Executive Director STEP GNE), and Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO – STEP GNE) on 19-02-2024.

CT University, Ldh visited the STEP GNDEC on 25th January 2024, during which they took a round of the campus and interacted with staff and officials. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) delivered a productive and meaningful session about Entrepreneurship, and prospects of How to start your venture, also gave the awareness of the latest software used in the industry. Er. Bhupinder Singh (Mechanical Faculty, STEP GNDEC) gave a practical demonstration on Auto Cad & Solid works. Ms.Gurpreet Kaur (Program Coordinator & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) encouraged and motivated the students to Entrepreneurship as a career option. CT University faculty Ms. Apurva and other faculty members appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities being provided on the STEP GNDEC campus. They had great interaction with all the Industries during the visit. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) supported this outreach visit.

Pyramid College of Business & Technology (Management students), Phagwara, visited the STEP GNDEC on 7th February 2025, Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) shared professional career guidance and also gave an awareness of the latest software. Subsequently during visits, provided students with a chance to meet industry leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs, who shared their wisdom, learning, and experiences.

Senior Secondary Smart School (10th & +2 Students), Sekhewal Visited the STEP GNDEC on 18th February 2025, Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) shared professional career guidance and also gave an awareness of the latest software. Mr. Manjit Singh, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Mr. Amritpal Singh & Ms. Chankirart Kaur took them for an industrial visit after the session for awareness purposes. During industrial visits, students were exposed to a variety of entrepreneurship situations that challenged them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.

GNA University (Management & Engineers students), Phagwara Hoshiarpur, visited the STEP GNDEC on 27th February 2025, Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNDEC) addressed them about start-ups and industries. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Mgmt. Faculty, STEP GNDEC) shared professional career guidance and encouraged budding entrepreneurs to the start-ups. Subsequently, during visits, Mr. Bhupinder Singh showed to students the FAB-LAB. Mr. Manjit Singh, Mr. Amritpal Singh & Ms. Chankirat Kaur took them for an industrial visit, Industry interaction helped in updating the curriculum when there were significant changes in prevalent technologies; also, the faculty members got to know about the industry’s latest trends for entrepreneurship.

Khalsa College, Garhdiwala District Hoshiarpur (BCA students), visited the STEP GNDEC on 20th March 2025, Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Assistant Professor of Mgmt. & Program officer, STEP GNDEC) gave the session on Entrepreneurship that how to start your venture. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor of Mgmt. STEP GNDEC) shared professional career guidance about training placement & latest software and also encouraged budding entrepreneurs to start start-ups. Subsequently, during visits. Mr. Manjit Singh, & Ms. Chankirat Kaur took them for an industrial visit and observed how industries operate allowing students and professionals to grasp industry-specific practices, standards, and regulations.

Design Thinking & Innovation Design Workshop was organized by Khalsa College, Garhidiwala, Hosiyarpur for the (Computer & Commerce Final Year Students) on 16th April 2025. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director – STEP GNE) shared creativity in solving the challenges that students faced in their lives; his wealth of knowledge and practical wisdom provided a unique perspective on navigating the challenges and seizing opportunities in the entrepreneurial landscape. Problem-solving skills were very impressive.

First-year B.COM students from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College in the District of Ludhiana paid a visit to the STEP GNDEC on August 5, 2025. In addition to discussing industries and start-ups with them, Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director of STEP GNDEC, offered them expert career guidance for the future. Industry courses are equally important for their profession, according to Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor, STEP GNDEC). Following that, Mr. Gurvinder Singh and Mr. Amritpal Singh took them on an industrial tour.

An entrepreneurship workshop was organized by Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Village Khiala,Distt. Jalandhar for the BBA, MBA Final Year Students. On 19th August, 2025, Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director – STEP GNE) shared the goal of educating students about entrepreneurship and introduced them to a range of creative company concepts. Additionally, considering the fact that successful business owners require not only strong ideas but also a source of inspiration to keep them going during the highs and lows of running a company. Trailblazers must begin with an unflinching belief in themselves before they can take advantage of opportunities to carry out their vision. The students found the workshop to be very educational and useful, and it was a big success.

The Gulzar Group of Institutes in Khanna, Punjab, hosted an Innovation & Entrepreneurship workshop for final-year B. Tech students. The significance of innovation and entrepreneurship was discussed by Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director of STEP GNE, on September 16, 2025. He also clarified that innovation entails thinking outside the box and coming up with fresh solutions to issues. It might be an innovative method of doing something better, a new product, or an enhanced procedure. Pupils were content and began by noticing everyday issues, coming up with ideas for solutions, talking to their peers, and looking into chances to create prototypes or join clubs focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. The students found the workshop to be very educational and useful.

On September 18, 2025, students from Kottan, Ludhiana’s Mata Ganga Khalsa College (B.Com., BA, BCA, and BSC.—both medical and non-medical—visited the STEP GNDEC. The Executive Director of STEP GNDEC, Dr. Arvind Dhingra, spoke to them about industries and start-ups & encouraged aspiring business owners to launch their ventures. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Asst. Prof, STEP GNDEC) offered expert career advice. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Asst. Prof. & Program Coordinator) informed the students about the free courses offered by the government and DST. Mr. Gurvinder Singh then took the students on an industrial visit and showed them the FAB-LAB. Industry interaction helped to update the curriculum when there were significant changes in prevalent technologies, and the faculty members learned about the latest entrepreneurship trends in the industry. We are also delighted to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between STEP-GNDEC and MGKC,Kottan on 18th September 2025. This partnership will open new avenues for our students and faculty to gain valuable exposure, and enhance skills.

We are delighted to announce that an MOU has been signed between STEP-GNDEC Ludhiana and JAGAT GURU NANAK DEV PUNJAB STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY, PATIALA on 26th September 2025. This MOU is designed to strengthen academic excellence, promote research, and encourage innovation. Through joint initiatives, both institutions will focus on knowledge sharing, training programs, and capacity building. The collaboration will create opportunities for students to gain industry exposure and enhance their career readiness. Faculty members will benefit from workshops, resource sharing, and research collaborations. Special emphasis will be placed on entrepreneurship, skill development, and industry–academia integration. This initiative reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

Outreach Activity on November 12, 2025, STEP GNDEC hosted a Workshop on Start-up and Internship for Final Year Students in the Electrical Department. It was a day full of chances to educate students enrolled in the Department about the start-up and practical software expertise.

Outreach Activity: On November 13, 2025, STEP GNDEC arranged an internship and start-up workshop for final-year computer science, civil, mechanical, and electrical students at Ludhiana Group of Colleges-Polytechnic, Ldh. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor) imparted his significant knowledge, giving participants practical experience and professional advice while also elucidating the concepts of entrepreneurship and job placement. A hands-on session on full-stack and Python technology was provided by Dr. Satinderpal Singh, (Sr. Web Developer & Assistant Professor). Additionally, Ms. Jaswinder Kaur, a PLC expert from the industry, presented and demonstrated real-world PLC automation projects.

Outreach Activity: On November 18, 2025, STEP GNDEC hosted an internship and entrepreneurship workshop for final-year mechanical students at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College in Ludhiana. Professional opinions: Team STEP’s varied expertise in entrepreneurship and guidance in various domains provided attendees with insightful information. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor) offered helpful guidance on navigating the Internship path. Er. ANKUSH SYAL (Assistant Professor) demonstrated hardware projects, conducted a live project-based session, and received practical understanding on efficient mechanical software.

Outreach Activity: On November 20, 2025, STEP GNDEC hosted a workshop for final-year IT department students on startups and internships. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor) imparted his significant knowledge, giving participants practical experience and professional advice while also clarifying the concepts of entrepreneurship and job placement. Mr. Amritpal Singh (Assistant Professor and Web Developer) provided the practical knowledge on Computer Languages like AI/ML, cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, and UI/UX.

Outreach Activity: A seminar on regular study for a diploma in computer application, business administration, and fashion technology was held at Govt. Girls Sen. Sec. School, Gilla (Ludhiana) by the Department of Science & Technology, Entrepreneurs’ Park, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College. The seminar covered a wide range of critical skills necessary for their further study, introduced new ideas, and motivated students to study it independently. The seminar on December 17, 2025, was expertly organized by Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, (Assistant Professor of Management and Program Coordinator); Ms. Tanisha Manchanda, (Assistant Professor of Fashion Technology); and Mr. Amritpal Singh, (Assistant Professor of Computer).

Ashish Kumar (Assistant Professor of Computer) presented novel ideas and encouraged students to explore the subject independently, while also raising awareness about Regular Courses offered under the autonomous status of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (Diploma in Computer Application, Business Administration, and Fashion Technology) Seminar was very well Co-ordinated on 18-12-2025.

Boys Senior Secondary School, Gilla (Ludhiana) by the Entrepreneurs’ Park, Department of Science & Technology, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (STEP GNDEC). Throughout the seminar, students received thorough details regarding the Regular Diploma Program. The program assisted students in acquiring robust academic knowledge and the practical skills required for their future professions. The seminar took place on December 22, 2025, and was effectively led by Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor of Management) along with Mr. Amritpal Singh (Assistant Professor of Computer).

On February 3rd, 2026, students from Punjab Institute of Management and Technology College (PIMT) Khanna (BCA & MCA) attended the STEP GNDEC, where they had an excellent educational experience during the workshop and the industrial tour. They investigated actual work environments, contemporary equipment, and applicable industry insights. The session and visit were both enlightening and motivating for everyone. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Executive Director, STEP GNE) addressed them about industries and startups while motivating aspiring entrepreneurs to start their businesses. Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Asst. Prof, STEP GNE) provided valuable career guidance and promoted internships during the academic program. Mr. Amritpal Singh (Asst. Prof of Computer, STEP GNE) presented live projects focusing on advanced technologies in Full Stack Development for their future, followed by Mr. Gurvinder Singh (Networking Administrator, STEP GNE) subsequently guided the students on an industrial tour and introduced them to the FAB-LAB. We are also pleased to share that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between [STEP-GNDEC] and [PIMT, KHANNA] on [3RD FEBRUARY 2026]. This collaboration will create new opportunities for our students and faculty to acquire valuable experience and improve skills.

On February 11th, 2026, students from Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions College, (BGIET) Sangrur (CSE & AI) visited the STEP GNDEC. Engineering students participated in an industrial visit to a reputed IT/ME/EE organization to gain real-world exposure and practical insights into industry practices. The visit helped students understand live projects, modern technologies, professional work culture, and industry standards. Experts from the organization (Dr.Arvind Dhingra - ED), (Mr.Ravinder Dev – TPO), (Ms. Gurpreet Kaur – A.P), (Mr.Amritpal Singh – A.P), (Mr.Gurvinder Singh - NetAdmin) interacted with students and shared valuable knowledge about career opportunities, skills required in the industry, and current technological trends. The visit successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, making it an enriching and motivating experience for all students.

Outreach Activity: A seminar was conducted on regular diploma programs provided under the autonomous status of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP GNE) at Dashmesh Public Senior Secondary School, Gill Road. A regular study session was successfully conducted for +2 students (Arts & Commerce) , our motive was to strengthen their academic foundation and encourage disciplined learning. The session focused on further study about DCA, DBA, DCCP & DFT, as well as concept clarity, syllabus-based teaching, and effective study techniques to help students perform better. The seminar took place on 11th Feb 2026, and was effectively led by Mr. Ravinder Dev (TPO & Assistant Professor of Management) along with Ms. Khushbeer Kaur (Assistant Professor of Computer).
